Default Power Steering (thought this was a simple fix) !

Had a bit of squealing from the aux belt - went to check the tensioner only to find the pump bracket had snapped... thought this would be easy to source and (foolishly) an easy fix.. here's me 2 days down the line and a car I can't/won't drive.

Even when I talk to the dealer.... it's clear they have no idea what I'm talking about... replacement £9.99 (but you might have to bend it into shape)... ::me:: er you know it's cast aluminium and wouldn't bend in the fires of hell?... "er... I'll call you back"

Anyhoo here's the thing - I "think" I've ordered the correct part (based on a free and full refund return promise)

I've attached (hopefully) a pic of the part and could do with some advice as to removal/replace of said partv70d.jpg

I've got the bit about moving the powered steering reservoir and access through the wheel arch (cos stupidly, my first thought the tensioner - if only)... after that I'm flying blind and Haynes is worse that useless...

You've also posted in the P3 section: what year / version have you got? The parts may well not be the same between P2 and P3.

Collected the part from the dealer and it's huge (picture attached)

The second pic with the black line shows where mine has snapped

So from what I understand, that's power steering pump off, alternator off, air con compressor off, bracket off - reverse procedure and all is good!

What could possibly go wrong! :-)
