Default xc60 rear vented disc v rear solid disc

It appears that I have a choice of brake disks for the rear of my XC60.

I can have vented disks or solid disks, are one type better than the other?
Is there any specific reason to choose a specific type?

Vida gives a part number of 31277357 but omits to state if they are solid or vented.

Any one have any experiences of Delphi or Brembo as alternatives?

You cant choose, you need the same one that are on the car as fitted at the factory as the vented ones are thicker.

^^^^^^ What he said.

Your can only fit like for like as the other type will not physically fit and/or work.

Am I right in saying the vented rears were only put on 4wd cars?

I think that was the case with the V60 so may be the same for xc60 too..
