V50 1.6 drive r-design
I currently have an 09 plate V50 and the fuel consumption is only averaging between 40 and 45 mpg this is well below what we were expecting. can anyone offer any advice on why we are only getting these figures and what we could do to improve them, the dealer say's everything is ok with the car and volvo uk have been no help at all. thanks.

First thing to check usually is your tyre pressures. Also driving in the Winter can depress mileage - especially very cold air temps - and so can low speed driving etc... How did you calculate your mileage, are you sure it's correct, or is it what the trip computer is saying? Are you driving with Air con and heated seats on?... window heaters too ? |

* Stupid Question alert *
Hi Guys, Can't seem to add a new post to this forum (perhaps due to post count, so sorry for invading) However, we've just bought a 2009 2.0d R-design and cannot seem to find the MPG meter. We've gone through the handbook which suggests using the stork to select from the binnacle menu however it's not there. Please don't tell me something so rudimentary for a £25k car is an option... help very much appreciated. |

Found my own answer, not very happy.
Just a way to make extra money. Shame on you Volvo... our 15 y/o Polo has one, just crazy. |
