Unhappy V50 2.0 D Noise from aux drive belt cold

Can anyone advise me please? Sorry I am not familiar with the engib=ne codes of Volvos but mine is a 2008my 2.0 D V50. On cold start up, there is a noise akin to a low level pas pump.
My question is how do I stop it (It has just come back from main dealer for service) and can I top up pas fluid?

Carlisle. Any reason why or are you not allowed to elaborate?

No reason other than bought mine from Parks in Ayr. Diabolical service only good thing was the price. Had towbar fitted and 3000m check done at Lloyds in Carlisle and was pretty happy with the experience. I'm just along from you near CD.
Intend getting 12500m service done in Jan at Lloyds. Any ball park figure for service cost? 2.0d.
Thanks

Jan 09 had 1st year service. Cost £208.
Dec 09 had 2nd year service. Cost £214. Got it done before end of year at lower VAT rate.
Incidentally, started car up today, Friday. 1 deg C No abnormal noises.

I always find Carlisle dealer good. Car always washed before return.

Wife's S40 2.0D makes exactly the same noise on occasion when cold (really cold!).

Goes away after about 20 sec of warming up.

Glad I am not the only one then. LLoyds told me it was to do with belt slip. Always goes on mine if you blip the throttle.
