So yesterday it snowed, and what happened. I had water running down the inside of the glass. So that pretty much answers that. Feel confident anyway based on that and what every here has said, so thank you everyone.

Glad you seem to have found your issue. If you can-once it's fixed-remove the carpets/sound deadening to dry them. The sound deadening in particular will hold a small lake of water! and can take days to dry properly[depending on temperature etc.] but it's better than leaving it wet/damp and going mouldy/holding water against the floorpan to rot it out.

Ah ok I will. I don’t suppose there is a way to remove the carpark etc without lifting the seats out. Lol

And is the sound deadening behind the trim?

Count yourself fortunate. On the last car I owned the full main front electrical loom was connected to the rear loom with non waterproof connectors under the front footwell carpet and if water leaked to the lowest point there all the electrics on the car would short out at random giving crazy non understandable electrical faults on almost every system in the car! At least you just have damp!

In all honesty I can't say whether or not seats/other trim need removing to get the carpets/sound deadening out as I've never done it on one of these cars, sometimes they're in fairly manageable separate pieces while others are one piece.
