Default Manual box oil

Hi,

Anyone happen to know the oil specification I need for a 5speed MANUAL gearbox? It's quite notchy and I think an oil change must be in order after 210,000 miles.

Also, is the drain and fill points easily(ish) accessible?

Ta.

Thanks, it certainly does :-)

I need to get better with the search - not much chance though after 8 years!

Default I'm in the same boat....

I've bought the oil from my local volvo dealer as per Cheshire D5's very informative video on youtube. I paid £22 a litre and my learned friend Cheshire D5 informs me that 2 litres is required.....I just need a break in the weather to get it out the bottle and into the gearbox...... I went for the Volvo spec as I knew it was bang on spec'....I daresay you can get an equivalent but as I'm no oil expert I took the safest option.
HTH,
Nobby

I'd read somewhere on the forum that it's sometimes better to do a Google search outside of the forum and it often finds forum posts that you don't easily find by using the in-built forum search tool...worked for me.
