Default Long shot...

S60 D5 185, first reg Oct 2007, 129000 miles

Anti-skid service required message regularly appears, after a fairly tight left turn - eg at a mini roundabout. After restart and a few hundred yards goes out, and stays off until the next time I do a tight left. Never comes on after a tight right. Otherwise drives very well, no power loss, no pull left or right etc.

Having read many threads this is obviously commonplace. I've checked the driveshaft bolts, not loose. As this only happens after a tight left, my thought is that the sensors aren't at fault, but something else is setting them off. I'm going to have a look at the reluctor rings as best I can (tips for doing this easily welcomed).

This has only been happening since it had a new NSF wheel bearing in March 2019, but that's probably a complete coincidence, unless the work disturbed the reluctor.

Ideally I'd like to get it read by VIDA, here's where it's a long shot - I live in central France now - anyone else by any chance here too, or know of a specialist over this side of the water?

sorry, can't help you with VIDA/Dice but wondered if you had considered the issue being the clockspring in behind the steering wheel. When it goes bad, the anti-skid message will appear. It is under most stress at full turns when the ribbon cable inside it it stretched out the most.

It's likely to be the steering wheel sensor - the same fault happened on our 2005 V70, just coming on on one tight turn but it got progressively worse and now the service message appears every time the steering wheel is turned either way.

I had the codes read and it is that.

Not bothered to fix it - it's not an MOT fail. Replacing it would be costly and I believe the 2005 model needs a dealer software set up. The service message can be blanked when driving.
