Default 'A' pillar, gauge pod??? for V70?

Has anyone fitted a gauge pod to there 'A' pillar successfull. If so where did you get it from. I want to install a boost gauge and apart from IPD,(which is supposed to be a poor fit!) I can't find a supplier for one.

thanks

Yes, I have. Got it from PartsForVolvos and cut to shape.

Hi Alastair,

how good is the fit, I seem to remember you had plenty of "adapting/glueing" to get it to fit onto the pillar?

you mean like the ones you can buy in every fast and furious shop in any city , theyre plastic and you can trim /warm them up to shape or you can make one like this .

Hi Howard,

Sorry for a slight digression from the topic but from a safety perspective, I need to strongly emphasise that pods mounted on 'A' pillars should be avoided on cars fitted with inflatable curtains. I've come across quite a number of severe injuries caused by such fitments.

As for sourcing pods, I think most accessory shops like Demon Tweeks etc., should have them.

Hmm, how to quantify? About an hour's work of fitting (and I'm not the world's most adept handyman).

shame we cant get someone in the uk to make a new a-pillar trim piece with built in pods like they have done over in the states. im sure there is a market for them.

id be willing to pay say £30 for a high quality a-pillar trim piece with 2 pods.
