Default HELP! How to remove V90 glove box?

Yesterday I started my project to replace the heater matrix of my V90. I now have the seats, the centre console and the carpets all removed. All straightforward, thanks to the clear instructions given in https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=61218

First thing planned to do today is to remove the glove box. The instructions say simply
Remove the glovebox after removing the screws holding it in place.
I have removed four small torx screws but the glove box shows no sign of wanting to come out. I can see no sign of any other screws or nuts holding the glove box in. (I think it must be different from a 940 where evidently there are 10mm nuts to remove to release the glove box.)

I'm stuck! Please help me!

How do I get the horrid thing out without breaking anything ?

Not sure if this is relevant to your car, but I attempted to remove the glove box on a V50 my daughter used to own. I wanted to remove and check the cabin pollen filter and the instructions indicated that the glove box should be removed to gain access. I removed the obvious bolts/screws but it was still secured by something. I found two, almost hidden, torx head bolts at it’s top edge, screwed upwards into the facia but they refused to loosen for me. As the car had been dealer serviced since new I enquired as to how dealer removed said glove box to renew the pollen filter. They advised that they did not remove the glove box, they simply manouvered/prised the filter out below the glove box. Seems the two torx screws had never been removed since car was built so were extremely tight. I gave up before I damaged the torx bolts beyond redemption.

Again, this may not be relevant but on the 7xxs i've had/own, there are two clip in panels on the bottom edge, pop them out to reveal screws securing the glovebox.

Looking at the volvopartswebstore for a 97 V90, this image comes up :

That's the non-airbog version, this is the airbag version :

Clearly shown on the first are two concealed trim panels (#22)on the sides, pop them out and there are screws behind.

On the second, it looks like there is a liner (#23) that has to come out to reveal the screws.

Remember those are shown for LHD, RHD will be a mirror image give or take.

Dave, Many thanks. I had already removed screws #28 with no apparent success. Nothing came free.

But, encouraged by the Volvoparts store image, I levered things and, suddenly, with a loud pop, the glove pocket liner #23 jumped out. Even though the rest of the glove box remains in place, that gives adequate access to remove the ducting.

Many thanks again,
Martin
