Default Parking assistance module (PAM) coded to car?

Greetings all, I wonder if anyone could tell me if the parking assistance module (PAM) ECU is coded to the car?
In other words will a replacement from a breakers or e-bay work or will I have to go to the main dealer to purchase and have coded?

06 model, V70 D5 185.

Thanks for that kind offer. I have been doing some more reading on this problem and it seems that if only one of the sensors doesn't function it can knock the lot out. It is also said that the sensors are sensitive to power washing which is the only type of washing mine gets. I've done the "listening" test and can hear nothing. I have checked for continuity and there is current at the module but there is no light on at the switch. Without vida/dice I don't really know where the problem lies and I don't feel like going to the stealers who will no doubt want an arm and a leg for doing a check. So I'm a bit stumped. Does anyone in my area (30ish miles radius)have vida/dice please?
Edited to say, I may be back to you strbryan.
