Default Engine oil s60 2.0 T

Hi
I recently bought a 2002 S60 2.0T with only 40.000 genuine miles , one owner( a vicar) and full Volvo history... was about to service the car even though its only done 3000 since last year and don't know what engine oil to use because the oil used in the service history invoices doesn't tally with Volvo recommendations ???? on all my Volvo invoices it states TOTAL QUARTZ A5/B5 0W-30 9000, my book says 10w 40 or 5w 30... Any suggestions please ...
Thanks

The later engines do use 0W/30 A5/B5 grade oil but to help you try this:

0W30 will be fine - when hot it is the same as 5W30 or 10W30, but at low temperatures it is thinner than the others (but still thicker than when it is hot).

Continued use of 5W30 or 0W30 will not cause you any issues.

Volvo recommend and use 0-30 in there dealerships the a5 b5 is rating is important, surely what is recommended by the people who built and designed the engines is best??

If that's the case then, shell, Castrol, mobil, etc etc are all wrong ????
its all just another massive con ! I worked in garages in the mid 70's until the mid 80's , every car we serviced , from a mini to a Rolls Royce, got Castrol GTX, no problems what so ever ..... more ways to empty our wallets !!!!
