Default V70r geartronic 6 sp

I recently brought a v70r 06 geartronic with a split liner.

I shimmed liner and had local Indy refit the head, with everything renewed at the same time, Cambelt, pcv, all head oil seals inc all 4 camshaft oil seal and caps etc, so it was a comprehensive top end rebuild (without listing everything).

I used frf (Simon)with fantastic discount.

I shimmed the liner myself, very easy to do and so far I've done 30 miles in heavy traffic with the fan cutting in and out, header tank hadn't budged or temp gauge go above half way.

Before it was emptying the header in 40 miles.

The biggest surprise is the gearbox which is a massive improvement over the 5sp, I must say I'm very impressed.

Just a few more fettling issues to do, gearbox flush etc and it will be sorted.

Ford should never of made the Volvo HPT engine to 2.5ltr which have made the cylinders to thin.Common problem on all 2.5ltr Volvo engines including the Focus RS..
