Another early 145 on ebay!
I noticed another early 145 has popped up on ebay in West Sussex. Looks well worth investigating! (Nothing to do with me by the way!)

Hi mate
Very similar condition to mine!! ha ha - looks to be a good buy for that money, though the company selling it appears to deal in 'too good for the crusher' write-offs....I can't see any obvious crash damage??? I know you're tempted!! go on!!! Quote:

Yes, saved back in December. I really have no need for it, just couldn't bear to see it go around the track being an early salvageable model so gave it refuge for now!

on another note - how do people get round the whole old style door / rot / replacement issue. I recently managed to find an early front door in California (in California White too!!) but still got the other side to get and that could be years at this rate. I know Brookhouse do the repair panels but they are only the inner skin bottom?? Cheers and well done for saving mustard

Billy,
Sorry to hijack the thread, but you mentioned sourcing a door from California. I've often been tempted to go that route for panels for my 144 and my old Ford, how did you get on with the whole shipping business? I've always found that by the time I factor in shipping and customs charges things end up costing twice as much! Cheers, Chris. |

Hi Chris
Well I haven't received it yet but I am getting regular updates and I know it's now in UK as it went into and out of international customs without problem. The door itself was roughly £55 and the sending charges included import duty. The whole bill came to £97.00 I ordered it about 2 weeks ago and it's due any day. The door is the older type without the hole for the 2nd generation flush door handles, so they are rare, especially with very little rust. If I'd seen it at an auto-jumble in UK I'd have snapped it up in a second for £100, so I dived in with this one. It was my first ebay purchase too!! Quote:
