Hi Tommy
yes they should, with the 15mm spacers is the tire inline with the edge of the wing, have you ever had any rubbing, I only ask as I have been thinking about getting some 15mm spacers, Thanks Dave |

Hi. I initially had 20mm on the rear without lowering springs. I noticed with brand new tyres on 225/45/r17 I had a slight rub on one side (I had a broken spring i wasn't aware of) so the 20mm would have rubbed with lowered springs. What I did was used my cousins lathe to turn them into 12mm spacers. However, I had 15mm on the front so I decided to put them on the back and the ones I turned down, on the front. So I guess depending on your size of wheels/tyres, 15mm on the rear on my car with 17" do not rub. Looks way better

Also bearing in mind the camber is still in stock position but I would imagine if this was adjusted (if possible) it might get pretty close to rubbing. But I'm leaving mine as is. I'm hoping the 4 wheel alignment will sort my rear sway at speed

Hi Thanks for info,
I was thinking about fitting 15mm front and rear, and changing the steering limiters, so I get a better turning circle, are your wheel bearings ok, as any play would make the car bad at high speed Dave |

I wish I had turned the 20mm down to 15mm instead of 12mm so I had 15 front and rear. Oh well. And yes I've checked the bearings. No noise and no play. I tried messing around with all the tracking so I know it's well off now. And trying to get access under the car when it's sitting on the ground (lowered) isn't easy ha. £65.00 for 4 wheel alignment so im hoping this sorts it out as I've had enough now.

Its great at low speed cornering. Its just at high speed with slight steering twitches it goes daft at the rear. I'll post here on Thursday the results of the alignment

When I first lowered it and test drove it, it was off to the right. I then took it for front wheel alignment which didn't make any difference to the position of the steering wheel. I then adjusted the front camber to its maximum to bring the wheels straight (or as close) that actually brought the steering wheel nearly straight. I then got 2 tyres which were due, I told the guys what I did and they said I need 4 wheel alignment. But I've been messing with it myself since then so it's definitely not straight

when the rear toe is out, it will put the steering wheel out,
so all should be good when it is all correct, another good cheap mod to do is to fit front subframe bushes, poly inserts, they cost about £25, as in this video by Simon, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75-hyIvUCSI Dave Last edited by davebb; Jul 2nd, 2019 at 20:17. |
