Default Urgent help....Timing belt snapped D4192T

Hi... Does any one know what damage may of been done??

It looks like the auxiliary belt has shredded and forced the timing belt to either snap or come off, either way its no longer timed, will the valves have hit the pistons resulting in the engine being wrecked? or what's the likely damage?

Thanks

From what I've read it's not a happy ending when the timing belt snaps, although there is a very slim chance you could be lucky.

Generally the valves hit the pistons and get bent / broken and the head needs to come off for repair.

How old were the belts?
