Default Turbo removal D5 163

Well, The dads D5 turbo has thrown in the towel, Bearing screech. I don't suspect oil starvation. So I aim to replace it with a temporary second hand one (more than likely permanent).

Removal of turbo, Any help on doing so?
Is it better tackled from above or below?

Gaskets are all on order, and yet another oil change. I will be checking the feed pipe for sludge build up. I had suspected that it may be on the verge of letting go as there was always a lot of oil being thrown through the pipework.

Never removed a turbo from a P2 car, however below is from a 2.0T taken from the perspective of me lying on my back underneath the car so you should be OK accessing most bolts from underneath.

Is it an AWD? If so, you have the added complexity of removing the angle gearbox before you can get to it and it ends up a pretty awful job. If not, its just the usual struggle of accessing bolts. Access from underneath as you say.
