I'm wondering just what the new car market will look like after this, car makers losing billions, dealers shut down, finance companies burning to the ground. Strange days indeed.

Lots of dealers are still operating a 'buy it now' function on thier websites plus they will deliver & collect your PX.
BMW is just one example. |

Incidentally, on that note. A brand new supermarket opened last week behind the factory where I work. Every aspect was put in from scratch, electrics, drainage, water etc. It was derelict land prior to the build. Out of 350 car parking spaces there are only 2 charging points. If the govt are serious about pushing everyone into electric cars, they seem keen to bully both the mfrs and buyers down that route, then how can they allow planning through of a new site with only 2 electric chargers?

Not only that, but the prices of electric cars are ridiculous (Especially new ones). If they were priced reasonable, more people would buy them or would at least consider it.
Most of these electric cars like the Seat Mii & Skoda Citigo to name but a few are £20,000 just for the base models. These cars are of no use to most people, as they simply aren't big enough for families etc. If a Seat Mii is £20k, I dread to think what a more practical electric car that most people would opt for or even need would cost. If the Government want people to drive electric cars, they need to make them more affordable for a start.

I think it's criminal how short a lifespan cars have at the moment. And people keeping EVs longer would certainly benefit the environment... |

You know what its like nowadays though, a newer plate & sometimes even a revised shape of the same car that you may own comes out every six months!
