f the "FERRY" switch is used to reduce the guard it automatically resets next time engine is switched on. At least it does on my car. Also legend is REDUCED GUARD only. |

I use the reduced gaurd feature when the dogs are left in the car. It means that I can lock the car, have the windows wound down enough to get fresh air in and stops the alarm being tripped when the dogs move around inside.
As soon as the car is started the full guard is reactivated. A good feature to have. |

I love my dogs and would not do anything to harm them. I am very conscious of the effect that heat has on animals left in cars.... so you may now rest! Thanks for your concern.

Reduced Gaurd C30
Hi all,
Wondering if anyone could help?? I have a 2006 C30, T5. When exiting the car I have to put it into 'reduced guard' otherwise if I do not, then the alarm will go off at the slightest breeze/car coming past/cough etc think you get the jist. I have no clue where to start with fixing this fault and have heard that Volvo want to charge over £1000 for the privaledge. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. |

I have to always do the same as leek
2005 V70 btw I've fitted a new genuine alarm siren.... But I had to do that to make the sunroof work.... The thing that fails I'd the sensor on the head lining mid way in the cabin We call our button the 'dog button' or 'dog guard' and we've never ever owned a dog.... But have owned plenty of Volvo estates!! |
