Default s40/v40 wood effect dash parts

Was the wood effect only used on the P1? You never see a P2 with a wood look dash - am I right or am I just not seeing them?

It is only the Phase 1 that had the full walnut (look) dash.

The A/C panel is different on the Phase 2, as are the central vents, which had a heat control on them.

I don't suppose it would be that difficult to fit the stereo surround and modified centre vent to the Phase 2, though.

I planned on doing that with mine, but I was told that the wood effect on the Phase 1 was less 'red' than the Phase 2, so wouldn't match.

The other reason I decided against it, is that I have a spare set each of aluminium gear surround and glovebox trim and piano black gear surround, gb trim, gear knob and steering wheel and may want to change them at some point, leaving the wood parts around the stereo and vents, which would look rubbish.

I guess P2 were only partly decorated with fake wood/black/silver trims. Like this: http://www.vozimvolvo.si/e107_plugin...opic.php?69861

I never liked the wood effect. It looks too fake and wrong on our cars. I much more prefer the piano black trim. I am now in the process of changing the wood effect with the piano black trim on my T4. Only have the door cards left as they are a real PITA to remove without breaking anything

I like the wood trim, but I also have all the black and aluminium bits, so I left the door cards as plain black leather, so I didn't have to swap them over.

I too have fitted part "wood" trim to my centre console and it looks cr@p, I have ordered some piano black carbon fibre effect vynil wrap from the bay of e and am going to give the dash and console a makeover.

Some of the late 2003 and 2004 cars came with the aluminium trim, but I am not sure if I like it. It looks nice with black leather but not so sure how it would look with beige or cream interior

My personal taste:

-Wood effect looks simply too fake, too reddish. Unless you like wood of a wild cherry, or your car is bordeaux red.

-Aluminium trim (aka Cyborg trim package) looks and gives me too cold effect.

-Black trim (aka Piano black) looks kind of a the best among all of them. Not because I have it, but it just fits on. On black (off-black) interior of course.
