2005 v70s don't normally suffer with dim problems but there is always a first time.

dim failure seemed to cease after they stopped using lead free solder on the circuit boards this solder was a big problem on all kinds of electrical components not just the car industries.

I bought my 2005 V70 SE 2.4i 170ps auto with over 279,000 warranted miles on the clock, sight unseen via facepalm. BUT, I had done a bit of homework on the seller after seeing the car for sale before committing myself! I already knew before travelling to the other side of the Country to pick the car that I was dealing with a genuine Volvo enthusiast who was honest & trustworthy!
42 months later, apart from Service items, I have had to replace the battery and that is all! This car cost me the princely sum of £ 995.00 plus two train tickets to Warrington @ £120 total ( I never go anywhere without SWMBO!). The moral of the story is: Do some homework before committing yourself to a purchase and never, repeat never, fall in love with a car! There will always be another. |
