Default Seeing cars that you used to own!

I dont think that this happens very often but isnt it odd to see a car that you used to own parked up or being driven around?

When I saw the 240 estate that I owned earlier this year at a service station in Reading this evening I couldnt resist accosting the owner and having a chat about it!

It was good to see YKO again and owned by someone who appreciates her - just like meeting up with an old friend!

Indeed this has happened to us . Very strange feeling knowing that oneself has loved the car polished it etc..............Now with someone else owning it , thinking in the back of your mind if the new owner is loving the car as much .

Can remember seeing one of my old V40's (well it was a loan car whilst my normal one was in for some bodywork repairs) OW??EFF for sale on Fawcetts forecourt.

At the moment I'm based in Lancashire and I'm pretty sure I've just found my mum's car from 4yrs ago for sale up here at the local M-B specialist on the A6... going to have a quick look at it soon to see, there's a couple of things that would tell me if I've not gone insane (Dog guard holes in the boot aperture trim)

We've had it before where we've seen our old cars somewhere on the roads, up until now we've run company Volvos for all my life, mine is the only non-company owned car, so there's always been a high turnover of cars which makes keeping track of them a bit harder!

I saw my old V70 I traded in 6 months ago in car park 6 miles away from where I live. Car still looking nice and well kept. Pity there was no sign of the owner as I would of liked to tell about my time with the car. Most I have never seen before after they have been sold.

My old 340 is still going strong, my mate works in a garage near Southampton and regularly gets it in for servicing and MOT.

Another freind came with me once to watch a small hatchback only banger racing meeting and saw his old mk2 fiesta getting destroyed! It was a very tidy car when he had it too!

i saw my series 3 capri 3 years after i sold it (in 1992), when i bought it, it had been rebored to a 2.1 with a 5 speed gearbox with a bodykit on it and was immaculate. when i saw it 3 years later it was a shed, hed ripped out the engine and box and put a 2.3 ltr v6 cortina engine in it, took the kit off it and i nearly cried!
when i was 19 i sold my rover sd1 vanden plas to a friend and he resprayed it white, it didnt seem like my old car then, but i did used to take it for a drive every now and then for old times sake!
regards

I see one of my old and best examples of a pristine 93'/K Celica driving about from time to time. Brings back memories but the the new owner has fitted a GT4 bonnet, GT4 alloys and lkots of interior tat.

Once when trawling through a breakers yard 15 years or so ago, I found a Morris 1800S (London-syndey marathon basis car) in the yard and thought wow, my old man had one of those, then when I got to the number plate it was his... that was really spooky and sad at the same time!

Aside from that most of my Ex's were written off in early years but I saw a 940 SeTurbo that I used to own a couple of years ago still looking like brand new even though its now 16 years old!

Quite topical for me this thread.

Over the past two weeks I have seen my mom's old S40 being driven and what I think was my dad's old S40 parked up next to S60-MBS's S60 (can't quite remember the reg to that one).

As I mentioned in another post on here today, I think my old Volvo 340 (A686 UOF) ended up as tin cans many moons ago
