Fitting a Ham Radio Transmitter
Hi
I have just ordered a V50 Driv e, SE Lux and I am intending to fit a VHF/UHF ham radio transmitter has anyone done this before or got any advice ie best location for antenna to avoid vehicle electronics, is there an easy way to get power cables from battery to passenger compartment etc. Thanks |

New mota!
Would suggest tapping off cig lighter supply rather than having to drill though bulkhead.
Guidance on how to get at here: http://vccs.volvocars.se/accessories...9-088cc5428b89 How long's the wait currently?

I have a Yeasu FT8900 transciever (with Tri-band antenna 6mtrs, 2 mtrs & 70 cms) fitted to my S60 D5 and the main body of the rig is mounted in the boot where there is easy access to power supply and to the hole in the roof left by the removal of the car telephone antenna. The radio's remote head is mounted on the dash and the speaker on the driver's door pillar. This has worked well without any problems with the cars electrics or the radio. Hope this helps. Geoff.
