V40 heater and climate control
Hi Folks,
This is my first post to the forum - I have just last month bought a 2000 V40 D SE, which so far I am generally pleased with. There are a few jobs to carry out over the next few months but nothing too serious - the normal fare: engine mount, instrument bulbs etc. Being an SE it has climate control, which I am still trying to fathom out(!) As you guys seem to be a pretty knowledgeable bunch I thought I'd have a go at picking your brains! My questions/probs are these: 1. The interior temp (A/C off) always blows hot unless I turn the climate dial down and then it only cools when in its lowest (bottom one or two) settings. This is all very nice during the winter but I think it could become annoying during warmer months. Is this right?? 2. The standard temp switch/dial (in between the centre air vents) does absolutely nothing either (with regards to the temp). Is this the case as I have climate control? 3. The other week on start up I noticed both the A/C switch and recirculation switch flashing which I know suggests a fault but the above problems were noted before this. Also, the flashing has only happened twice and not each time I have started the car. Any ideas?? I have skimmed through most similarly titled posts and whilst they have been very helpful I have not come across the exact same probs. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Darren |
