Any Feedback on V50d SE
I am thinking of changing my current Volvo XC70 to a Manual 6 speed V50D SE and looking at an 08 plate with leather upgrade and winter pack. I know it's a bit of a come down from my present car but as it's now done 79,000 miles and is 5 years old, I'm looking for something more economical to run.
Any feedback on the V50D SE would be appreciated. I have test driven one and it seems a very nippy number with smooth ride and still fairly roomy. Thanks in advance. |

You might want to read this thread
http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=66151 I reckon the new 1.6d all alloy engine is loads better than the 2.0D I have a 1.6d DRIVe SE Lux and it is fantastic better than the 2.0d and you get another 15mpg with no sacrifice in performance. Think I have covered it all in the post but please feel free to ask any specific questions

Hi,
very happy with mine, performance figures are accurate to Volvos figs, economy is around 42-48mpg (worked out over the month), overall the best of both worlds ! a very nice drive all round |

Got to agree with Kirium. The V50 is going to be less car than your old XC70, but it's still a lovely car and very nicely laid out. I've one or two issues with the 2.0D engine in mine, but it's normally a faultless performer and doesn't seem to mind being revved unlike other turbodiesels I've driven in the past.
I've also got the leather and Winter Pack. Those heated seats can be a godsend on a really cold morning. They heat up nice and quick and will keep you toasty until the car heater kicks in.

I've been very happy with my 2.0D SE. I can't comment on the 1.6D, but I'll give it a test drive when I come to replace this one.
What I would say is that the cream leather is a menace to keep clean. I won't be getting cream seats again. Cheers now. |
