Goodyear Eagle F1 205/55R15 - Deleted from Catalogue
Hi,
V70 2.5T CD I was going to replace my Eagle F1's with a new set but I have been informed by Goodyear that they are no longer available in 205/55/R15 format - it seems 15inch are deleted - What to do now ? Suggested replacements from the tyre people at Goodyear NCT, or Goodyear Ventura in V speed rating. As I only want a quiet comfort tyre I keep getting so many conflicting comments from the fitting companies. Others suggested being those from Dunlop SP9000, Dunlop SP Sport 01's, Vredestein Ultrac and Sportrac. Does anyone have any experience of the Vredestein's or can comment ? |

Sorry, don't know your name. I have just replaced my Pirelli tyres, after 15,000 miles, with a new set of the same. I used Kwik Fit who are currently offering 25% discount on a set of 4, saving me £106 on the next best quote.
I have the P zero Rosso, but you may like to consider the cheaper version P Zero which I had fitted on my wifes Celica Gen.7. Excellent all round tyres offering smooth ride & outstanding grip. Regards

pirelli use soft compounds and wear fairly fast. I have had P6000s on a diesel and got great grip but bad wear. A lot of new volvos have continental sports.
If you have the 2.5 unmodded you won't see great value. Try www.blackcircles.com. The site will tell you what tyres are available in the size you are lookign for so you can make your choice then. My advice - try and go for a swept-type rain thread. normally quiet and have good water displacement. I note in the search you could get Kumho ecsta 712s at a very reasonable price - I'd try those for value. Others here have recommended Toyo about 20 a corner up and farily close to the p6000 price. The last thread I saw was from one of the wheel spinners so the wear rate won't apply to you. Given you won't be paying for a brand I'd try them if you also want value and very good grip. Ken |

If you have a Costco near you, you'd be amazed at the prices for Michelins fitted - best prices (by far) I found after extensive shopping around 6 months ago. I realise that Michs. are not super 'sticky' but they are reputed to wear very well and I have found these Mich Pilot Primacys to be quieter and a little better riding than my previously fitted G'year NCTs. If I didn't find those I was going for Nankangs from www.mytyres based on a friend's reco.

Just an update - I finally had to select either Dunlop SP9000 or Michelein Exalto 2's - 205/55/R15 - they had to be W or Z rated for my V70 Turbo.
I went for the Dunlop SP 9000's - so far very impressed - supplied by Micheldever Tyres at a fantastic £73 each all in fitted. |
