Vat & delivery but exc. fitting (£5 per corner). Nangkang NS-2's, good for 'daily driver' cars. I'm going to go with Hankooks on my auto next time though, (£100/pair).

Granted, they won't be as good as £100-£150 per corner tyres, but at less than £50 a corner, provided they last OK and grip fairly well, who's complaining? :)

RE: More new boots
17,000? That's a fantastic mileage for a set of fronts! :-)

RE: More new boots
>And of course they don't blow out, doing the speeds your car >is capable of with your beloved family onboard eh. Well that would be a bonus I guess!! Seriously, unless you're a performance driver I really think the more expensive brands are overrated. I've had P Zero's, BF Goodriches, Conti SportContact and Michellin Pilot Sports before, some have lasted ages, some haven't but I don't really notice a *huge* difference between them and the cheaper brands the way I drive. I'm pretty confident that any 'branded' cheaper tyre will not 'blow out' just because they are cheaper. I would never buy non-branded tyres or remoulds, though - same as I would never, ever have a tyre repaired.

RE: More new boots
Thanks darren, well i ordered a pair of ns-2's 215/45/17 yesterday for 49 notes each inc vat and delivery.
reagrding blowouts bcos they are cheap is rubbish, i believe the nankangs are made by yokahoma. the nankangs have a speed rating of 149mph and a load rating of 87. They are also dot approved. The initial reaction of them blowing out is why the major makes can charge as much as they do for their tyres cos people one look at alternatives. i will post my thoughts on them.

RE: More new boots
A couple of friends with 'premium' cars run Nankangs and swear by them. To do with a comment earlier in this thread...Do you really think in this litigious society that so-called 'budget' brands present a higher risk of blow out? Nevertheless, Costco offers incredible value on fitted and balanced Michelins...much better than even www.mytyres.co.uk.
