RE: My view on the 304bhp rica map
you cant expect vt to force people to pay for a dyno can >you. and then what happens if they dont get good power? Ask for a refund! > >its a bit like pc world getting everyone to bring there pc in >after installing software so they can check it. Slighty diffrent, if it doesn't do what it says on the box and your pc meets minium specs then you would return the software or contact the maker. You missed my main point though "Also how can you guarantee that the figure you give to someone as to what they will get with thier upgrade is correct if you do not dyno the car?" Regards Iain

RE: My view on the 304bhp rica map
Hi.
Having had my car stressed on more rolling roads than I can mention, I can say that I think my car will be able to take whatever I throw at her on the road! A proper rolling road session can sort the 'weak from the strong' very easily. Regards, Dan. |

>So most of your customers what extra BHP but don't want to
>stress thier car? Surly a contradiction? Also how can you >guarantee that the figure you give to someone as to what they >will get with thier upgrade is correct if you do not dyno the >car? > Wow, lol!! The word vendetta starts to spring to mind.... You just don't give up do ya? ;) If someone reads an ad, pays their money and goes home without any verification, then that is their perogative surely? Most people KNOW something dramatic has happened to their car after a RICA map just by virtue of the drive home; Also figures and stats don't matter to everyone. Some people simply want the product with the greatest promise/potential. Also, a dyno session is a *lot* more stressful on a car than a drive on the open road, you should know that. :) Cheers, Dan. |

Vendetta....Nope...Just trying to bring to light questions that some people may not want to ask themselves. Or even possible problems with a product or advertising. Even Adam has seen a problem with his website and made adjustments to change this due to my posts and questions.
Quote"If someone reads an ad, pays their money and goes home without any verification, then that is their perogative surely?" Nope because the ad should be true in the being! Regards Iain

Sorry but that removes free will, and your concerns are not the concerns of everybody else. Dan. |

Thank you for correcting me on that point Adam.
Correct information is the key to anything. Whether it be purchasing something or even making something..... Regards Iain

RE: My view on the 304bhp rica map
>So most of your customers what extra BHP but don't want to
>stress thier car? Surly a contradiction? No. I, for example, want to release a few extra ponies that the engine has to offer - not for outright performance, but to overcome the limitations that the AT places on the performance of the T5 in the mid-range. Provided it overcomes that, whilst retaining the drivability of the T5 as well as not lessening the life of my engine (within reason) then I'm happy. I couldn't care if it's producing 320bhp or 240bhp! I would be very hesitant about putting my car on a rolling road, unless it was critical to sort out some kind of problem that the diagnostics could pinpoint from r/road data. I wouldn't put it on a rolling road just to see how much horse power / torque the car produces.
