On the later design, the rubber goes around all four edges of the glass and is one-piece so does not detach. I am not sure if the two types are interchangeable but on the later type not only are the rubbers different but also the various trim strips. This is difficult to see in the photos in post #89. Thus, you would need to change them over as a set, assuming it is possible.
