1800ES ignition wiring
In an uncontrolled frustration fit, I pulled the wires out from the ignition and haven't the foggiest notion where they all plug back in.
This is because I lost the key, so now I have bought a new ignition switch which unfortunately has a different number of contacts on it! Anyway to get me back on track, has anyone got a wiring diagram specific to the ignition switch please? Or a photo from the back?? In my 'manual' the wiring diagram is in black and white, swedish and so tiny I can't get my eyes to focus on it properly. My wires seem to be different colours from the diagram anyway. I think my machine is 1973 ('L' reg.). As I am at work, I can't look at the colours right now, that'll have to wait til after t'weekend.) many thanks, colin |

Hi,
I've attached two photos of the back of my ignition barrel that I took when I was removing all the wiring during removal of my dashboard. It's 71 1800E so I would assume it has the same barrel as the ES. Hope it helps. Mark |

thanks massively for that, I shall now go and have a look at the colours of the wires. Do you think that the barrel is original?
I shall get back to you after the weekend |

There's nothing in the history indicating a new barrel has been fitted, and I've definitely got the original keys so I'm pretty sure it's original to the car
