M40 Non Overdrive Gearbox Oil

Could someone tell me please the correct viscosity \ SAE rating of gearbox oil for this unit please? And the capacity?

Is the best way to fill the box up by unscrewing the gearleaver?

Please advise.

Gearboxes with overdrive should have 10/30. gearboxes without is reccomended different but you will have no trouble with 10/30. Your engine should run happy on it too.

Through the gear stick is probably best , although getting the rubber gaiter back in the right position without jacking the car up and getting underneath to tackle it can be a nightmare.
