Default 850 Alternator Mounting Bolts

Does anyone have access to Volvo part numbers and specifications?

Have just replaced my alternator and became confused when re-assembling as I couldn't figure out which bolt went where.

Finally figured out that someone had been in there before and one alternator mounting bolt was missing (possibly when a previous owner had the PAS pump replaced).

What I am after is the correct part number and dimensions (in case I get sent the wrong one, only to find so after having stripped it all back down again) of the lower mounting bolt, which is also the longest of the three.

Tried all sorts of internet searches without success so far. Just for clarification, The car is an early 1998 V70 T5 so is the same as an 850 and I believe the late 1998 V70 > are different.

TIA

Is it P/N 982808 (no.10) over on VolvoPartsWebStore? They don't appear to have listed dimensions for that particular flange screw.

Thanks for that, really useful as at it shows the part number which gives me a head start.

Also from this, I now know the dimensions of the shorter bolts (M8 x 80) which were, I think, about 10mm too short. I could always buy one that is too long and cut it down.

Cheers,

Thanks 4x4. That confirms what I thought.

I now have various Volvo part numbers which vary between classic, marine and heavy vehicle Volvo divisions so am spoilt for choice.

For things like this I'd not be afraid to go to a dealer. They have the microfiche and can get parts quickly. Might be a short delay if they have to come from GCP division. FRF Swansea will talk you through an order if needed or can send you a copy of the page in the fiche for you to check out.
