2006 S40 1.6D For Sale

Hi Folks,

So its time to sell my S40, popping it on here first before i go down the facebook market place / gumtree etc routes. Its been a good car to me, its challenged me on a couple of occasions but never let me down.

its only got the baby 1.6d engine which i know is not a loved engine in the volvo community, its sluggish and boring but it does return about 50mpg on a long run 70mph cruise control, and its a lot better on diesel than my xc70 d5 especially on short runs to the shops etc.

its got full service history (stamps in the book) and i've kept all the receipts for everything i've ever done to it, its got both keys as well. Its got a full 12 months MOT, on 118380 mileage. below is what i've done to it:

it had the timing belt done at 107174 miles.
new hand brake cable for last mot
N/S/R Wheel bearing and both lower suspension arms, new rear bushes
N/S/F Wheel bearing
both rear shock top mounts replaced
new EGR valve

of all things the boot has given me the most trouble, since its last MOT i couldnt open it, i replaced the button on the tailgate, then the lock itself and turned out to be the wiring under the boot lid was all freyed and broken, i've just received a replacement wiring loom for the boot (genuine volvo) which i will fit once the weather sorts itself out, so thats one common fault the new owner wont have to worry about.

so i've always got this car fixed when it needs it, its in lovely condition the paintwork is bright and vibrant, the interior is like new. (please note in the photos i'd just washed it so thats water on the floor not oil or anything untoward)

It drives absolutely fine, the clutch is fine, engine always starts on the button, the air con doesnt work though needs regassing i think as it did work when i bought it, but hey this is england! the heating and heated seats work thats probably more important right!

i'm looking for £1250 car is in Leeds. I'm selling as I wanted an estate for my bikes so i got an XC70. If you're interested or know someone who is then PM me and i'll give you my number.

An update on this, weather eased off so i fitted the new wiring loom and the boot is working as normal now so she is ready to go!
