I got this through today as a result of waiting for my MY XC90 T8 that i rejected due to the wrong colour. It has a decent summary of the changes for MY20 and may be of use to some.
2. SPECIFICATION CHANGES Now approaching four years old, the MY20 XC90 benefits from a mid-cycle upgrade with cosmetic upgrades to the following areas; - New front grilles - New lower front bumper - New detailing for lower front air intakes - Integrated roof rails standard on all variants - Dual integrated exhaust pipes standard all variants - Full width chrome detailing strip Inscription, rear bumper - New alloy wheel designs All models now benefit from a Load Protection Net and Twin USB Slots and the T8 variant adds a Charge Cable Bag to facilitate storage when not in use. All Momentum models now have a Power Passenger Seat as standard. The Panoramic Sunroof is now an option on T8 variants. - Included in the Xenium Pack R-Design models join all other carlines by employing a Glossy Black design theme for the mirrors, roof rails and window trim detailing. At time of price list production, images remain under embargo and will be circulated as soon as available. - Edition 2 of the MY20 price list contains no images due to embargo dates relating to the announcement of the facelift model. 3. POWERTRAINS There are several powertrain updates for MY20. Please read the following information carefully. The T8 AWD powertrain benefits from a larger 11.8 kWh battery that improves both range and CO2/fuel economy figures. The D5 AWD benefit from new mild hybrid technology by adding a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) as standard. This technology will be rolled out to other powertrains during the next twelve months as part of our commitment to electrification. To signal the new technology, this powertrains will be identified as B5 the B referring to braking. As the vehicle decelerates, instead of the energy being absorbed by brake pads and turned into wasted heat, it is channelled via a generator and stored in an auxiliary battery. When the vehicle starts moving again, the energy in the battery is used for acceleration and/or powering ancillary equipment. Unlike a plug-in hybrid, the mild hybrid cannot move using electrical power alone, it is always in conjunction with the petrol or diesel powertrain. PowerPulse technology is not available on the new B5 powertrain. As an overview, the MY20 powertrain line-up looks like this; - B5 AWD 235hp - T5 AWD 250hp - T6 AWD 310hp - T8 AWD 303+87hp Overall, price increases are modest, the biggest change attributed to the KERS technology on the new B5 powertrain. KERS is optimised to work with the new WLTP driving cycles so we do not expect any NEDC-derived CO2 improvement on paper - although it is likely that improvements will be noticed in real life situations. Momentum pricing reflects the Power Passenger Seat addition and the T8 Twin Engine reduction is due to the Panoramic Sunroof becoming an option. Included in the Xenium Pack 5. MISCELLANEOUS Passion Red, Luminous Sand, Electric Silver and Magic Blue exterior colours are deleted. Birch Light, Pebble Grey and Thunder Grey are added. The R-Design steering wheel, gear knob and key integrated remote no longer feature perforation details. A new upholstery colour is available in Slate. BLIS is renamed Intellisafe Surround. Smartphone Integration is incorporated within the Premium Sound options and remains available as a retailer accessory product. All technical data is preliminary and will be confirmed in writing once certification paperwork available |

Almost certain it will get some breaking feedback compromises with KERS too. Hopefully not as bad as electrics. Hopefully a paid marketing article about new amazing technology in Autocar soon. Interesting whether it is collecting energy on both axles (unlikely) and how it manages to pump it back. Doubtless they will say it is way better than PP but we wont know if it at least matches it until someone tested for pros and cons.

Some interesting changes for the MY20.
I was going to swap for a nearly new MY20 when the dealership had one available but now I'm not so sure about swapping an MY19 just for the bigger battery, if they had increased the rear electric motors I'd be more inclined but they really haven't changed much at all considering on the T8. I do like Thunder Grey and the new black accents though!

I've heard that they've changed the chipset for the Sensus system for MY20 but then again they said the same thing for MY19.
Anyone heard if they've sped up the infotainment system for MY20?

Such a great emphasis on gray now - 6 different shades now I think (Birch looks like a light gray).
Even a new "gray" colour interior it seems. What a shame! |

Also, this seems like another cost cutting decision: Quote:

My current XC90 is in Electric Silver.
Really stands out next to other silver cars. I was also tempted by the Bronze since my first XC90 was in gold, but that colour has gone too. |

We will soon be back to the days of Henry Ford and "you can have any colour you like as long as it's black" or in Volvo's case silver. When will they realise we don't all want the limited "shades of grey" they seem to think we want.
