black smoke, oil on intercooler
Morning guys first post, i have just purchased my first s60 d5 2005 model, i have a big cloud of black smoke coming from the exhaust at around 2000rpm when the turbos are winding up but at the same time i also have a whistle which i believe may be a boost leak, i have come out this morning to find the bottom of the intercooler has a bit of oil on. Could this all be something simple like a split intercooler pipe or will it be the intercooler has broken ? I have looked through the bottom grill and the intercooler doesnt appear to be bowed. Any help or advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help

Hi the intercoolers are weak and do go bad,
so it problem is the intercooler, looking at the grill you may be seeing the aircon rad not the intercooler, Dave |
