Default XC 60 EPB after brake pad and rotor change

Hello everyone. I changed the pads and rotors on the rear of my wife's xc60 this weekend. Now we are getting the 'parking brake not fully released' warning and super annoying dinging sound when driving.

I am wondering if I buy a computer scanner such as the iCarsoft Auto Diagnostic Scanner VOL V2.0 for Volvo/SAAB with ABS Scan,Oil Reset, ABS Bleeding, Injector Coding ect will I be able to access, adjust, and/or reset the warning lights, sounds, and ensure that the EPB is correctly set moving forward? Right now the brakes are working great, I can engage and disengage the EPB, I can hear it working and it keeps the car from moving, and the brakes are not dragging when I drive it.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks in advance

Which method did you use to release the EPBs to replace the pads/rotors?

I unplugged the EPB and used a battery to retract the caliper. I don't know if I missed a step since the dash board light and alarm are sounding. And I don't know if purchasing an electronic tool such as the one in my original post would allow me to fix the issue.

I did mine using a small battery and had no problems. After you refitted the calipers did you reverse and reapply the battery to each motor to leave the rears with the EPB fully applied as the vehicle system had left it? I'm not sure if this is really necessary, but I felt it was less likely to cause confusion.

I did not use the battery to put the EPB back to fully engaged. Perhaps I will attempt that and see if the car can figure out that the EPB has been adjusted.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will give it a shot and update results
