V60 D4 power steering failure
Hi everyone, I have a V60 D4 2014 and yesterday I lost power steering. Guessing the pump has gone, the fuses seem OK and there's a slight humming when I try turn.
Can I get a new pump and where is it or is it a new rack? Thanks |

Is it the 2 litre D4? I've always assumed the power steering's electric as my manual says:-
Power steering fluid - level Cars with 4-cyl. 2.0 litre engine do not have power steering fluid. For cars with another engine, the level of the power steering fluid must be between the reservoir's MIN and MAX marks. The fluid does not need to be changed.

My mate sent me that, the reservoir is behind the driver headlight but mine doesn't have it. That's why I wondering if I can just change the pump or not. I asked on Facebook and someone said its part of the rack so need a new rack. Could probably change the pump myself and save some pennies but guessing it's a big job changing the rack. |

I think you might be confusing electric power steering with electro-hydraulic.
Electric power steering has a motor in the steering column/rack providing the force directly. Electro-hydraulic has a motor running a pump, which then provides the force through hydraulics. If you have no reservoir, you have electric power steering and there is no pump. |
