Hi guys. Does anyone have 164 power steering unit for my 63 Jensen P1800?
Any fitting tips? Kind regards CK |

better look for electrical PAS from a corsa. With a small md this one seems to work perfectly in the amazon/p1800 ...
I've done a 164 ito a 144 and that was quite a job. Tot me the el PAS would be much better.. |

Thank you for your link.
I have heard from other owners that this kit leaves the steering too light despite it being adjustable. I wondered if anyone else has used this kit? It is very expensive. CK |

There are people here in holland taking the corsa B or C PAs and only need a small el.box to cheat the steering for ignition. By the way: The EZ steering uses the same system as the corsas. But have never heard comments on the light teering though!

Steering should be "light" over about 5 mph. Get the front end up in the air and check every joint plus the steering box adjustment. Yes it is a bit heavy lock to locking it when parking and hauling out of a cambered gutter but hopefully you don't do that too often!

Against what you would think wider tyres usualy give a lighter feel to the steering!
It is worth checking all the ball joints and bushings on the front end as worn or stiff joints will make the steering heavy. Also make sure the box has not been over tightened |

I think I will have a look at the corsa option as the EZ unit is very expensive.
Thank you everyone for your help. CK |
