Steering column, how to get off? XC90 -07
Hi,
I have problem with my XC90. When steering, it gets some scratching noise and it feels like steering try to jam. I took of all plastics around the steering column, steering wheel and clockspring. Then some bearing peaces fell off to the ground, and i realized that bearing is broke on the steering column. That bearing which is inside on that column, not that outer near the wheel. So, is the only option to take my car to Volvo service, or is it possible to do by myself? That column is very expensive, almost 1000€ and works. I would be very grateful if somebody can help me. Thanks. |

VIDA shows that the entire steering column is one assembly.
So you cannot get individual parts for it You might find it cheaper to get a 2nd hand steering column from a wreckers

Like I thought. It would be great to find good instructions how to do that. I’m not sure if it necessary take dash away, or is there enough space without that. Hope so.
