XC90 Advice
Hi all,
Just bought a 04 XC90 T6 Exec with 94k on the clock. It’s been well looked after with loads of history but can’t see anything about the timing belt being changed. Should I do this now or after 100k? It’s also got me wondering if there is anything else I should get checked over! Any advice would be much appreciated. |

A 14 year old car with 94k miles with no record of timing belt change cannot be called "well looked after". Check the service records, a well looked after car must have the timing belt change entered in the maintenance records of the car, see the service booklet in the glovebox.

Ok, will go through all the records more thoroughly and double check, guess from what you’re saying it should have already been done. Many thanks.

There’s a convention that the date and mileage of the cambelt change is recorded on a sticker on top of the air intake or similar somewhere under the bonnet. It’s a silver sticker and should be easy to spot. Best of luck with your new car. 🙂

If a genuine Volvo timing belt kit was fitted, it comes with a sticker on which you write the mileage, usually that's found under the bonnet or the drivers door shut. I don't personally know the timing belt interval on the T6 but I am confident that the longest interval will not exceed 10 years so yes it should have been done by now.
