hi all .. at what year does a 2004 s40 become a classic car at whatever class. just wondering

In terms of insurance it's 20 years, so 2024

There is no magic age for a car to reach Classic status As it doesn’t just rely on the car’s age, you need to take into consideration the rarity and desirability as well. My 23 year old 850 GLT isn’t classed as a classic, yet a V70 T5 at 22 years would be and that’s because they are more desirable. I insured a 12 year old Jaguar X308 on a classic policy for several years but the 850 GLT doesn’t cut the mustard...

My 2003 C70 is insured on an agreed classic policy and has been for the last four years without any problem. However, I would be struggling to get the V40 on a classic policy, even if it was only used occasionally and not the main car.

My 240 became a classic car a few months into my policy with Adrian Flux. As if by magic I got a policy update and it was a classic car with a bunch of endorsements! That's odd... I Most defininetly did not sign up for a highly restrictive and brutal Classic policy and it was not a classic the year before.
Strange that...
The answer is: when Adrian Flux insurance feels like it.

Could explain to me then DAN AT ADRIAN FLUX how my 1992 car WAS NOT a classic during the first year of my insurance. How I did not even hear the word Classic when I signed up the second year. The only endorsement on my Schedule was due to my depression. Then a week after I slide on ice, I get a new policy in my in box? Several endorsements and I don't get a thing back.

You lot kept the remaining 9 months of my £288 policy, took my one years no claims, told me I had to make a claim to get a vehicle recovered and paid out.... Zero.
I'm sure it's just a small misunderstanding you know.

I'm stuck now. Two miles from food, fifteen miles from a bank, four miles from a Post Office etc.....

The HMRC definition of a Classic is a car that's over 15 years old and worth over £15000. Someone said that already? If so,I apologise.
