Probably selling up...Volvo 760 GLE V6 estate
Firstly I feel like a bit of a user, as this forum (particularly the font of all knowledge Dave aka Laird Scooby) has helped me to bring my car back to life from the scrapyard, but I'm in need of raising some cash and this is the obvious sensible thing to do.
So here are the stats: It's a 760 GLE 2.8 V6 estate. It's done 129300 miles. It is dark blue with tan (great classic combo). Only 3 owners. Loads of history in stamped book. Was off the road 2012 - 2022. Has MOT to November 2022. The good stuff: I've replaced most of the car , including: • Main fuel pump • Slave (in-tank) pump • Crank Sensor • Ignition Module • 6 x Spark Plugs • Repair to holed fuel tank sender cap • Injector Refurbishment of all 6 injectors • Distributor Cap • Wiper Blades front and rear • Tailgate Struts • Oil and Filter • New tyres x 4 (Falken) • Rocker Cover Gasket RH bank • Spark Plug Boot and Lead x 1 • Thermostat • Front Indicators • Antifreeze (proper concentrated Ethylene Glycol) • Brake Fluid • Brake Flexi pipes • Headlamp Wipers & Bulbs • Caliper Refurb OSR • Drop Links x 2 • Alternator Refurbishment • Electric Aerial • New Radiator and top hose • Headliner Fabric and adhesive • Auto Transmission Fluid • New CD Player and Wiring • Number plates Other good stuff - the car is structurally amazing. Underneath there is no rot I could find. Battery tray looks almost perfect. Cosmetically it's very presentable, I have done some cosmetic repairs which are in the main to a good standard, however there is a repair to the leading edge of the bonnet which although better than looking at lacquer peel, the colour match isn't the best. I've retrimmed the headliner and sunroof liner with new technical fabric, looks great. Opportunities: The fuel gauge is stuck reading full. I just keep it brimmed (car will come with tank of Super) Not tried to gas the air con but it isn't blowing cold. Might be fine. Heated seats don't work but not even looked into it. PAS works well but seems to take a couple of manoeuvres to charge the system and take full assistance, again not looked into it. MOT advisories - couple outstanding; handbrake cable fraying (works fine) and brake pipe deteriorated. Important bit - pricing: So the 760GLE V6 market looks all over the place. A 69000 mile identical minter is on car and classic for £7k. A similar silver project vehicle with 141k is on sale with a trader for £3500. I'd say mine falls in between based on condition and mileage. Happy to chat, just drop me a message. I've attached a couple of pics. |

I thought I'd check to see if this one was still on the road, it is on SORN and the MOT expired last November, I wonder if it will go back on the road or if it has been banger raced/parted out and will remain on SORN permanently.
