Default T5 Stage 1 - New clutch required?

Hi chaps,

At what mileage did you go to a stage 1 tune? Was clutch slip immediate after the map?

Significant adjustment of driving style required?

Despite 128,000 miles, my drive train feels particularly strong...not sure If I should risk it.

I'd say if you're on a high-ish mileage just don't risk it and if you do, expect slippage soon and get ready for a replacement.

If you're going to mod it, S60R or RS clutch is the best option, S60R clutch can handle more torque than the RS one though!

The clutches on these just aren't built like the older cars!

123.300 miles when S1.
135.000 now

I dont feel any difference as for clutch engaging since I tuned it, but my CSC is degrading slowly ever since I got the car, even before S1 tune so I am replacing clutch now mostly due to pedal not coming back as happily as it should and not because of clutch slippage.
No clue what condition my clutch is - will make sure to inspect it when replaced.

I got my S1 at maybe just under 100k, now its 110k now. Cant say I have noticed any clutch slip, if I have, it has been temperamental, like maybe slightly on one day, then nothing for a long time (even then, its probably not clutch slip, because in those circumstances it hasn't felt as bad as clutch slip I have felt in other cars, not sure what else it could have been).

My driving style changed by not launching the car as much, but thats due to traction issues with more power. I did intend to get wider wheels / grippier tyres, but after someone broke into my garage and stole some stuff (that was going to pay for this), I haven't really bothered.

I got my Stage1 done around 45,000 and now on 129,000 and still no slip but wanting clutch to go soon to upgrade it really.

Been doing track days, 1/4 drag days etc and tonnes of day to day driving with the car and clutch still feels solid with no slip.

Id say go for it as the clutches are due to be changed around this time anyway so if its going to go its going to go regardless of map or not.
