960 question

A recent post in the wanted section has set me wondering.The op wants a 960/V90 but as far as the 960 goes would want a Mk2 for the passenger side airbag.My question is at what point did the Mk2 come out?My 960 was first registered 1/1/1995 and as far as I can see has no passenger airbag,certainly there is no indication of such a thing on the dash[no lines in the dash to indicate the presence of one nor is there any wording on the dash to say so]mind you thinking about it from memory[it's some months since I last saw it]there's nothing to indicate that my year 2000 P1 V70 has one either! What were the differences between the Mk1 and mk2 960s?

MK1 is the 940 looking car.

The MK2 has the rounded bumpers and looking more V70 ISH. The suspension is all changed with he leaf spring IRS rear end. A lot of changes were made with the mk2

1988 model year the later facelift which had a lot of changes ...

The V90 was produced for two years 1997 P reg and 1998 R reg. I used to own a 1998 model and wish I still had it.

I think passenger airbags may have been an option, I had a '95 M reg 960 with one, and now have two V90's (97 P and 98 R) both without

Yes, my 1996 (P) 960 2.5 doesn't have a passenger airbag, and nor did my 1997 (R) S90.

Indeed, passenger side was only ever an option right from the first 960 mk2's in '94 right up until the last 90's in '98. I've owned cars from every one of these years and none of them have had a passenger airbag.
