Other reasons “brake” warning light would come on
Question for the gang, I had always thought that the red “brake” warning light would only come on when fluid was low. I’m having an issue now where it is on and won’t go off. I do know that there is a small brake fluid leak in rear right caliper that will be taking care of ASAP but wondering if anything else could be coming into play. Do faulty abs sensors trigger this light too or do they activate the “abs” light. I thought it was the latter.

It can be a faulty ABS sensor. Only needs one to pull loose and it triggers.

Thank you. In that case I think that's what it is. My daughter has been using the car and let me know that she is hearing clicking while driving. I had previously tried to clean some corrosion off the rear abs reluctor ring which temporarly cured the clicking but it's back. Also guessing that the rusty reluctor right has now eaten through the tip of the abs sensor hence the warning. Lovely.
