Angry S90 Transmission Tunnel Trim removal

S90 2017 MY

Did something really stupid today.

I put a credit card on top of the forward sliding transmission tunnel cover and watched it slide out of sight when I braked for a junction. Tried to recover it but couldn’t get it and in that process heard it drop down. Before I couldn’t slide the cover back - now I can so the card has obviously dropped down under the trim?????

Had a quick google search but can’t find any info. How do I get underneath there? It seems speicialist trim removal tools might be needed but more concerning is it a trip to a main dealer to retrieve it? Is it likely to do any damage to anything underneath???

Hopefully you know what I’m talking about but here is a photo of the offending “slot”.....

The side panel is easily removed. Just ease your fingers, or a wide flat blade inder the bottom of the panel and pull. The clips will release, and then you can move round the rest of the panel and take it off. Hopefully you will be able to retrieve your card.
There is a photo of the panel in this thread. https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=288747

Thanks. Is that the one on the passenger side with the net pocket attached to it? Does it go back on easily?

I didn’t. I’m hoping the side panel removal is straightforward and I can find the card that way. I didn’t try removing it this evening. If not, and it’s not causing any trouble it gets reported as missing!!

Assuming your is RHD, yes, but I guess its the same both sides. I don't have a net pocket on mine (V60 not XC60)
The panel is held on with plastic clips that just pop back in when lined up.

I did exactly the same with my car park access pass 2 days after I got my V60... The passenger side panel pulls off in the same way as the drivers side, easier to put the seat all the way back to make some space. My card lodged part way down so was retrievable with some contortion of the hand.

Thanks for the help.

Sorted in 10 secs this morning before the drive to work.

I guess knowing which panel removes easily and how to do it is the key. Great advert for the forum - invaluable accurate help.
