Default Seat Cover Removal or Stretching

Hello to everyone. This is my first message.
I have a 2003 v40. The pockets behind the front seats are hanging badly. I want to stretch them. I don't want new holster. Can repair. Have you ever attempted with this before?

The seat cover is attached and secured to the seat frame by elastic straps and metal hooks. This holds the tension in the cover and keeps everything tight.

It appears that the elastic straps have perished- the heat in Istanbul will not be good for the elastic - and or the metal hooks have come undone.

The seat cushion needs removing from the seat frame and then the seat back upholstery can be opened from the bottom and peeled up to gain access to the straps and hooks. Not an easy job, but can be done. The alternative is to buy some good second hand seats and swap them over. Hope this helps.

thanks for the answer. I don't want to interfere with this area because of the side airbag in the seat. -

I have replaced the leather on one of the front seats. As ITSv40 says it is do-able but is a pain to do.
There's what's called hog rings that pull the fabric to the cushion, on replacing the leather I used to tie wraps. I seem to think I might have disconnected the battery before removing seat from car just to be on the safe side.

Have a quick read of this guide I posted a while back - https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=266425 - the hooks have probably come away from the seat frame, so just need re-attaching.

I've since discovered two small black handles at the base of the seat back that can be lifted, and allow you to tilt the seat all the way forward until it touches the dashboard. This makes access much easier!
