Tailor-made registration plates
I've seen some Rover 75s going about with rear registration plates shaped to exactly fill the boot recess. I thought the same thing might work for the C70. Anybody know if these are made specifically for Rover or if and where you can get custom plates made up?
Thanks |

RE: Tailor-made registration plates
Halfords do the tailor made plates, but only do them for the Rover 75 & the Peugeot 206

RE: Tailor-made registration plates
There are several plate makers on the web most of whom will do them to fit your requirements. One will do a pair of plates without you supplying proof of reg mark ownership, but the firm is Irish after all!
All the best, Peter |

RE: Tailor-made registration plates
plates made without prove of V5 aren't road legal, & you can get done for not having the BSi mark on them (has been done around here)

Not so - according to plate manufacturers in Scotland.

RE: Tailor-made registration plates
Ben,
I think what Peter was trying to say is that the rules apply to UK plate makers so Irish firms are exempt from the rule even though the use of such plates by an individual may be illegal. I don't think any offence was intended. Andy |

I know there was no offence intended, hence the emoticon.
We dont have those rules here, hence ill be taking full advantage and fitting those american square plates with my irish number on it, The 242 already has the holes in place for american place(it was originally a californian car)

RE: Tailor-made registration plates
Fair play Ben.
I must admit to liking the irish reg system. Much clearer, much more logical, much more understandable. The old british suffix and prefix system was saft enough but what the hell is it with these numbers twice a year. They say that it is supposed to be easier to understand! Testicles to that I say. I understand the new system but certainly have to think about it. God knows how my wife understands it when even knowing the colour of a car is an effort! Andy |
