  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

I started this thread. Volvo now tell me that they have fixed the software bugs, and the car can have it's software updated - booked in for next week to have this done. They want to charge £99 - I'm arguing this and intend to win as I was sold the car not long ago by the same main dealer with the sales person specifically telling me the maps would be up to date in response to my question.

After some polite but firm arguing got this upgrade done free last week. Have now loaded latest maps. Seems to work: map load took about 2 hours.

Well done on forcing the dealer to uphold promises made as a condition of the sale of the car. £99 is a bit steep anyway. I feel that the usual £50-60 is high for nothing more than a plug-in upgrade when they provide engine upgrades free, but I doubt that such an argument would carry the weight that yours did! I would have been prepared to pay these charges but the inability of the unit to accept the upgrade necessitated its replacement under the Selekt warranty and so I got it free as it is an integral part of a new sat nav!
