Default ABS warning light/power failure

Help needed !
Since a few weeks the "ABS" warning light comes on (T5 estate 1995)and it means that the following don't work:
Indicators/Main beam/Dashboard light/Heated seats/Heated mirrors.

Stopping the engine and restarting occasionally helps.

Garages are baffled (no fault codes on ABS and other diagnostic sockets/relays unlikely/no bulb failure etc).

Any suggestions greatly appreciated !:(

had a similar problem abs light came on and main beam light occasionally failed.. dealer suggested a new pcb for the dash but it turned out to be a loose connection on the pedal posn switch and the bank of connectors under the fuse box(accessed in the footwell). hope this helps

I think you have a faulty ignition switch, try turning the key small amounts to see if this restores power. You can replace just the elecrical part.

Hi ya,

I agree it sounds like the Ignition key Syndrome. A fairly easy job to do. Make sure that you also don't have a lot of weitght, ie excess keys on the ring that contains your car key!

I also had the problem with the Pedal Sensor in thend i bit the bllet a purchased a new one £80!!!!

Hi Jamie28, How did they fix the loose connection on the plug i fancied resoldering mine but can't fathom how to do it ?

Mark.
