Default V90 R-Design ride quality

Having ordered an R-design last week I'm concerned to read that the suspension is not at all comfortable and ruins what should be an extremely comfortable car.

Ibe stuck with the standard 18inch alloys but am now worried the whole point of having a big comfy car will be diminished.

Any reassurance welcome.... please!

Default Ride quality

Test drive.

I have found the ride is very variable and massively dependent on road surface. High speeds are ok but 30 - 50 on a rough road can be really bad. Having said that on smooth roads it can be nearly silent.

A long test drive on your local roads should tell you.

I would also not assume that small wheels / big sidewalls help. I have driven V90s on 20 inch that are better than 18 inch.

If you still want good handling the standard V90 is still quite handy for a big car and not softly suspended at all.

I have a V90CC and it is quite chuckable down a twisty A road.

My current V90 Rdesign on 18inch is a lot softer and less jittery ride than my previous V60 Rdesign on 18’s.

Although next time I would be tempted to to try with 20 inch wheels. As I feel they do compliment the side profile of the car better.

Style over function? You decide

The ride isn't overly sporty imo. I was dreading the local potholes but the R Design is actually better than my 2016 XTrail with big tyres.
